briliantly written / painted imagery - one could visualise and feel at the same time. i like the intensity. i wanted to pick out some specific instances, but then there were one too many of them, so i let it be.
maybe you write your best when you are reeling in self-pride and doubt... maybe the tortured talent is your muse.
face it, mojo... you write - and you write WELL - not to enlighten or save the world but to come to grips with your own spirit, quench your own thirst. so if you give up the idea of "thrilling people" and just let yourself ooze out through your pen/pain... see what happens then!
take care, and hang on!! :-))
you mean to say you're mind is already "altered" otherwise ?! ;-)
and nicotine alters your lungs and throat, my friend - forever... :(
good to see you back too :))
just how much "ganja" has gone into you to make you think you'll die laughing??!
I'm brilliant white light
raining on street sides
laughing aloud insanely
destroying defunct species.
The fire torching trees
dead wood with weeds
... some really good images! ![]()
Maybe Sulekha needs to publish "An Idiot's Guide to Sulekha" so that members like me can understand the undercurrents better...
hey caravan, when you find the keystone, do let me know, okay?! :-)
interesting to read your thoughts/experiences as a recent blogger on sulekha.
no offencxe to the sulekha members here, but frankly, two months is what it took me to give up the idea of creative blogging here - for reasons as diverse as boredom, writer's-block, disappointment with general mediocrity, juvenile-ness (is there a word like that?) and semi-sycophancy, and my general lack of stamina, i guess. i've stuck on since then as the occasional blog-reader-and-commentator.
whether it was a case of sour grapes or sweet nothings which made me stop posting outside the comments section blogs, i can't say right now. but it's reassuring to know most find this site good for blogging and sharing.
a visit to your blogspace has been indeed a rewarding experience so far - for the intelligent variety, subdued critique and, of course, the range of appropriate quotes. i hope i can continue to find the same pleasure here.
:-)
hmm... "promising" is the key word... hang on, my friend!! :)
and thanks for the refreshment :))
so... are you still waiting for whatever you were waiting for?
when is "and then the wait was over" coming up? :-)
hmm.. i can't figure out the "why" of this post. ther last one had more substance in it. this one was like watching an acrobatic practice session. if you know what i mean. :-)
but i couldn't help going "great!!" after reading harsh puri's comment section... :-)
that was fun, following the last ten or so comments ... pity it ended so soon! :-)
as for your take on "hope", my friend - interesting (he he.. remember, that's what one says when one doesn't know what to say!!) and typically cynical of you, if i may add. ;-)
but i suppose you can replace the word "hope" by "i wish..." and for a moment you try to lose the detached-and-wise insulation covering you and face up to the child-like eagerness lurking inside you... i like to imagine you DO have the quality of finding neverland there!!
that's what the word HOPE means to me. not the everyday four-letter-word.
waiting for the sequel... :-))
Men and Pain Tolerance
my father came through the combined images of the "men" here, minus the amiability somewhat!! ;-)

very well sketched observations... perfect!
